Travel information for Portugal at a glance
Portugal is the fastest and most comfortable way to reach by plane. The main airports are Porto in the north, Lisbon and Faro in the south of Portugal.
Portugal is a great destination almost all year round. In the south of the country it is relatively mild even in winter.
The best time for a city trip to Lisbon is between March and May, and in September and October. While it is relatively cool in Germany, the sun is shining in Lisbon and it is pleasantly warm. In midsummer, however, it is often unbearably hot in Lisbon.
Porto is not so blessed by the nice weather. The city is located further north and is considered very rainy. From April to October, the city is definitely worth a visit.
In Portugal you pay with Euro. ATMs are numerous and even paying by card is now widely used.

Portugal is still relatively cheap for Western European conditions. Especially in Lisbon, the hotel prices in the last few years but properly dressed.
